A Debt of Gratitude & Something New!

Sonya Leigh Anderson

My son Grant & grandson Bo. kianagrantphotography.com

I owe my oldest son, Grant, a debt of gratitude beyond anything I’ll ever be able to repay. And I figured I may as well start with a SHOUT OUT right here. Here on this blog… on this website… which Grant designed and created. Free labor, all of it. None of this would exist if it weren’t for him. And it goes far beyond a website. If you own a hard copy of The Covenant Story, maybe you’ve commented—as I’ve heard on countless occasions—“What a beautiful cover!” That would also be Grant. The design and every related accessory… from promotional pieces to graphics on slides used for speaking events. All of it. Yes, I’m bragging. I’m also attempting to express my THANKS.

Because now, there’s more. Another big project pro bono. A love gift from my son. An investment, no doubt, in the Kingdom of Heaven. A store of treasure for the age to come.

A new endeavor. Something suggested by some of you. Suggested, too, by my publisher. An idea I wouldn’t have given the time of day, if not for this one divinely provided, undeserved blessing…

My son is also a gifted video-producer!

By now you may be thinking (and you wouldn’t be wrong) that this mom is taking serious advantage of her son. A Daddy with a full nest, a man with a full life, and who by necessity shouldn’t even consider work that doesn’t come with a paycheck. No kidding. (I’m also indebted to my daughter-in-law, Grant’s wife Kiana. Your sacrifice is undeniably noted. Along with your own creative genius which certainly permeates each of these projects. I do not have words to convey my weight of appreciation. I love you.)

So. Thanks to my son’s generosity the The Covenant Story video study is ready for use. Six sessions of storytelling to accompany the book, along with a downloadable guide for study and discussion.

And now I’m going to ask a huge favor of YOU. Because as you can see I am utterly dependent on help from my people. And shameless in my asking. No way I could ever imagine doing this alone.

So here’s my ask…

If you have people in your life, or groups at your church, who are looking for their next Bible study… would you consider telling them about The Covenant Story? You can point them HERE. To my website, and this newly created page where you’ll find a sample video and information about obtaining the study.

Here’s the truth. Never in my life have I been more aware of the breathtaking gift Jesus gave us when He made us to be The Body of Christ.

For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. (Romans 12:3-5)

Alone, I am helpless. A lone finger maybe, typing my words. But a finger alone is just ridiculous. I am in desperate need of a hand and an arm and the brains behind the operation. You get my gist. I need the Body, which is YOU.

I am seriously excited about this video study. A little over a week ago I had the opportunity to take this covenant story teaching to a women’s retreat, and I was humbled by the way I saw God use it. And let me say this, too. As we all know our real debt is to God alone. His faithful love. His rescue story. His miracle provision. JESUS. We are indebted to HIM.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
